Cherryville, NC- Congressman Patrick McHenry announced today that top leaders throughout Gaston County have signed on to support his bid for re-election.  “I’m very proud to have the support of such a strong group of leaders.  These individuals work tirelessly to make Gaston County, my home county, a better place to live day in and day out.  I couldn’t be more thankful for their support and what they do for the people they represent,” McHenry commented.

County Commissioner Tracy Philbeck will lead the charge as chairman of the Committee.  “When selecting someone to chair the steering committee in Gaston County, you couldn’t ask for someone more committed to conservative values than Tracy.  As the owner of two small businesses, a graduate of Gaston College and Campbell University, and proud husband and father, Tracy is a shining example of the kind of people we need working for the betterment of our region,” stated McHenry.

“In this current time of economic uncertainty, Patrick’s conservative values and ideals are desperately needed in Washington.  I’m proud to support him and look forward to sending him back to Washington this November to continue fighting for us,” Commissioner Philbeck said.

Congressman McHenry represents the northwestern and southwestern portions of Gaston County including the City of Cherryville and portions of southwest Gastonia including Crowders Mountain State Park.  He won the 2004 primary runoff with an astounding 89% of the vote in Gaston and has won by comfortable margins ever since.
