Mooresville, NC – Today, Congressman Patrick McHenry announced his top supporters in Iredell County from grassroots activists to business leaders and elected officials, including Sheriff Phillip Redmond and a majority of the County Commission.  Although one of McHenry’s opponents is an Iredell County Commissioner, all three of the other commissioners are supporting McHenry’s re-election bid.  “I couldn’t be happier with the support I’m receiving in Iredell County.  These folks know that times are tough and we have to work hard to help businesses create jobs,” McHenry commented.

Former County Commissioner Sara Tice will serve as Chairman of the steering committee.  “Sara’s exemplary service to the people of Iredell County is legendary.  She holds the honor of being the first female Chair of the Board.  She is a life-long resident of Iredell County whose family had a farm where Lake Norman is today.  She’s been active with numerous community organizations and I’m glad to have her lead the fight for my re-election in Iredell County,” McHenry said.

“We’re fortunate to have such a committed conservative fighting for us in Washington.  He’s involved and active in our fight to bring more jobs to Iredell County.  We can always count on Patrick.  He’s always been there for us,” Mrs. Tice stated.

Congressman McHenry represents the Southern half of Iredell County including Mooresville and Troutman.  In the 2008 Republican primary election he carried Iredell County with 78 percent of the vote.
