Conservative Organizations Agree – Congressman McHenry is One of the Very Best in Congress
Tenth District Congressman has consistently voted on the side of the taxpayers, small business, the Second Amendment and families. National Journal names McHenry top social conservative in the House.
Hickory, Jul 6, 2007 – Congressman Patrick McHenry received top billing from nine of the leading conservative and business groups and publications in the nation according to rankings released during the first six months of the 110th Congress.
According to the conservative National Journal, McHenry was tied as the #1 most socially conservative member of the U.S. House! The publication ranked him as the 23rd overall most conservative of the 435 members of the House. Conservative organizations agreed including:
* Americans for Tax Reform, which gives the congressman a score of 95% for his votes during the second session of the 109th Congress.
* Club for Growth ranks McHenry 13th on its list of fiscally conservative Members of Congress.
* Citizens Against Government Waste named Congressman McHenry a “Taxpayer Hero” for his opposition to wasteful spending and solid support of lower taxes.
* American Conservative Union, which gives the congressman a lifetime rating of 96% for his conservative record on social and economic issues.
* National Taxpayers Union, which gave Congressman McHenry their “Taxpayer’s Friend Award” on March 27th in recognition of his “A” rating with the organization.
* The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) gives 100% approval to McHenry’s voting record on behalf of small businesses and gave him their “Guardian of Small Business Award.”
* The National Rifle Association gives McHenry, an NRA member, a solid “A” rating for his defense of the Second Amendment noting that the congressman has voted on the side of gun owners on every critical vote during his tenure in Congress.
* The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the largest business advocacy organization in America, gave Congressman McHenry the “Spirit of Enterprise” Award for his 93% score with the organization.
